In the sunshine, snow and rain, in the hot of summer or the cold of winter, when you are healthy or when you are sick, when your refrigerator is full of food or when you are looking for a crumb to eat, one thing remains – God is a good and gracious God and He is worthy of our praise.
“Come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him. For the LORD is a great God, a great King above all gods. He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains. The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too. Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before our LORD our maker, for he is our God.” Psalm 95:1-6 (NLT)
If those six verses are not comfort enough, verse 7 tells us this – “We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen for his voice today.”
A shepherd is fully responsible for his flock of sheep, and the shepherd would do anything and everything to care for his sheep. And God is our Shepherd and He cares for us! Psalm 23:1 says this, “The LORD is my shepherd, I have all that I need.”
This shepherd and sheep theme is throughout the Bible. See Ezekiel 34:31, Psalm 100:3, and John 10:14.
So today, regardless of whether you “feel” like it or not, dust off your voice and sing praises to God! And know that you are well cared for!
