This Advent we are using the Vineyard devotional “The Light That Leads Us Home” in our Life Group. So far we have looked at hope, peace, and joy. This week, Christmas week, we will be looking at love.
We offer you this encouraging word taken from this week’s study – “It is the Christmas quest of every heart to love, and to be loved unconditionally in return. The Christmas story assures us that we begin our lives loved, and will end our lives loved, by God Himself.”
Later on,… we read – “The Christmas story is, at its very simplest, about the love of God pursuing you, and healing you.”
It is our hope and prayer that each of you, regardless of your current life circumstances, can soak in the presence of God this week. Let His love ooze all over you like chocolate sauce poured over vanilla ice cream.
Please allow us to pray for you right now.
Dear Heavenly Father, Christmas season is a joyous season for many, but for others it brings sadness and loneliness. We ask that in these last few days leading up to Christmas Day for You to touch each of our lives exactly where and how we need touched. Show us how much You love us and let us feel that love. Let us look forward to – with expectancy and a childlike excitement – the birth of Jesus and the hope, peace, joy and love that He brings to each of us. Thank you Father. Amen
