A New Season

The-Astronomical-SeasonsToday at 6:34 PM is the astronomical beginning of summer. Today is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. The astronomical calendar determines the seasons due to the 23.5 degree tilt of the Earth’s rotational axis in relation to its orbit around the sun. (The meteorological summer season runs from June 1 to August 31; each of the four meteorological seasons being three months in length.)

As we posted this morning, as followers of Jesus we are called to take off our old self and put on a new self. As it is with the beginning of a new season, we too can begin a new season in our life by asking God, through the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, to help us comfort to His image.

So today, for both the change in season and change in self – Out with the old and in with the new!
